During this semester we were set a project to create packaged products that will be for sale during a night market stall at Westside Canberra. Below are my initial ideas for the brand, products and concept presented in the form of a mood board.
The overall concept is to focus on providing handcrafted products and packaging that are detailed and capture the attention of viewers with use of raw materials paired with pop colours. A great deal of attention is directed towards focussing on limited waste for target consumers. For instance, packaging the product of a tea cup in a cardboard box is a great way to transport the product. However, once customers remove their product from the packaging, they often throw out the box. In this case, the packaged box will have chalkboard paint covering aspects of the outside so consumers can re-use the packaging. For instance, they can write on the chalkboard and place items inside to organise a particular item. Another aspect I want to focus on is geometric pattern design as it has always interested me. A hand-drawn owl will be the signature piece for all products to establish signage.
Other product possibilities other than tea cups include notepads and carry bags.
